The West Virginia Entomological Society is a professional non-profit, scientifically
oriented organization consisting of a governing board with elected officers.
Originally formed in 1980, the purpose of WVES is to promote the science of
entomology in West Virginia and to bring together individuals for the exchange of
entomological information and knowledge. Membership consists of 40 currently
active members with student, regular, and lifetime memberships. Anyone engaged in
entomology, allied fields, or with an interest in entomology may become members and
do not need to be affiliated with West Virginia University. Meetings are held bi-annually
in different locations around the state as voted upon by membership. Feel free to
check out all resources available on the WVES website (hosted by WVU), especially
the current newsletter to be aware of upcoming events!
